Montrichard is the local market town. It is situated on the river Cher and has a weekly market (Fridays), cinema, shops, bars and restaurants as well as a beach on the river which offers a range of water sports, restaurant, attractions for kids and sun-bathing!

On the river Loire, Blois is the nearest big town and is the home of Blois chateau, has beautiful views across the river and a buzzing atmosphere. It is the administrative capital of the Loir-et-Cher department.

The largest city of the region, Tours has a magnificent cathedral and the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Tours (in the former Archbishop’s palace) has a nationwide reputation for its fine collections. Tours has its own airport which flies into London Stansted.
